Job Responsibilities:
- Accountable for the design and development of all packaging, display and visual merchandising for Downlite’s conceptual design, customer private label and specific brand licenses.
- Support ownership on the project process from concept creation to finalization, while communicating with internal and external stakeholders.
- Utilize research and consumer trends to support all developments.
- Advance graphic and packaging artwork standards, processes and procedures.
- Associate in the development of design projects – both conceptual. brand and customer drove.
- Aid in the development of catalogs, guides, sell sheets, brochures and informational materials (for retail, hospitality, and bulk down divisions of Downlite.
- Help in the creation of technical spec packs and sourcing for packaging as well as displays.
- Engage in the proofing and press checks of all graphics and packaging artwork.
- Participate in the showroom design and execution of all visual, packaging and graphics needs.
- Maintain working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders on development ideas and ensure proper communication at all times.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in graphic design.
- Minimum 2 years 2 years related experience.
- Effective experience in design software, Adobe Creative Suite, Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign.
- Deep photography knowledge a plus.
- Expert knowledge of color, composition and layout, Pantone color library.
- Proven track record in both PC and Mac platforms.
- Demonstrated understanding of technical graphic design, fonts, layouts, format, templates and color.
- Solid proofing and editing skills necessary.
- Strong understanding of print, press, and papers and how to execute a graphics project from start to finish.
- Outstanding skills in Microsoft Office.
- General professional and social communication skills necessary to communicate with the global environment.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Sound attention to detail and ability to accept direction.
- Ability to work independently with little supervision, as well as part of a team with other DOWNLITE staff.
- Ability to work weekdays, evenings as needed to meet deadlines.
