Job Responsibilities:

• Lead, mentor, and coach a team of software engineers.
• Conduct effective code reviews in both front and back end technologies.
• Regularly check in and review progress with engineers in your team.
• Accountable for a half year and year-end performance reviews.
• Head development of high-quality solutions across multiple tech stacks.
• Develop the codebase, and make suggestions on where we can improve.
• Aid and support when production issues occur with products that your team owns.
• Contribute to product ideas and deliver from start to finish.
• Explore new technologies and share your findings with the greater engineering team.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and innovation.
• Operate in a team with a “team first” mentality.

Job Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years of experience working as a software engineer.
• At least 1 -year experience in a similar role leading people/mentoring teams.
• Effective experience building complex applications in a full-stack capacity (Javascript/CSS/client, backend, AWS infrastructure).
• Proficient experience leading the design of software architecture.
• Demonstarted understanding of infrastructure, testing, and deployment automation.
• Expert knowledge of Java or Scala.
• Proven experience in the Australian Payments market.
