Lead UI & UX Designer

Academy Xi is looking for a Lead UI & UX Designer in Sydney, Australia. If you meet the requirements below, you will be eligible to apply via Digital Marketing Community.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assure that Academy Xi’s website and student assets demonstrate best practice User Experience Design (as UX is our core discipline).
  • Own the brand experience across the entire company.
  • Enhance Xi e-commerce approach ensuring superior online enrolment and purchasing experiences (when compared to competitors).
  • Interpret concepts into user flows, wireframes, mockups and prototypes that lead to intuitive user experiences.
  • Operate with our marketing and events teams to create visual assets for a variety of applications.
  • Act with content producers to create beautiful and impactful designs and experiences.
  • Create and build creative marketing collateral.
  • Take a user-centered design approach and rapidly test and iterate your designs.
  • Promote design vision by researching, conceiving, sketching, prototyping and user-testing.
  • Work alongside our experience and marketing teams to create users stories and user journeys.
  • Identify design opportunities and devise elegant solutions.
  • Create strategic design and user-experience decisions related to core, and new, functions and features.
  • Lead independent contractors.
  • Maintain and extend our refreshed brand.
  • Ask big questions, take risks and champion new ideas.

Job Requirements:

  • At least 4 years of experience working in a UI and/or UX Design role.
  • Effective experience working at or with Startups is ideal, but not required.
  • Proficient experience working in education is a plus.
  • Solid visual design skills.
  • Proven UX experience (if you’re keen to learn UX, we can drop you into one of our part-time courses).
  • Expert knowledge of managing contractors.
  • Strong portfolio of digital projects, and marketing collateral.
  • Deep knowledge of working in a fast paced environment.
  • Positive can-do attitude.
  • Relentless drive towards quality and consistency.
  • Great written and verbal communication, as well as interpersonal skills.
  • Be self-motivated, resourceful and proactive.
