Snapchat has announced on its official blog, that they’re teaming up with the Clio Awards to celebrate creative innovations in augmented reality (AR).
As a way to celebrate the innovations in augmented reality (AR), Snapchat and Clio Awards are creating AR Specialty Award; the first-ever AR creative award.
As explained by SnapChat:
“Augmented reality is used to create some of the most immersive ad experiences today, and Snapchat is the industry’s leading platform for innovation in this format. To celebrate and recognize how far the technology has come, we teamed up with the Clio Awards to create the first-ever AR creative award”.
Snapchat is also added that over 70 million Snapchatters play with AR experiences for almost three minutes a day, which making Snapchat the largest app for Augmented Reality usage in the world.
The AR Specialty Award is an official Clio Award, co-branded with Snapchat, that will be introduced to advertising and social media campaigns.
SnapChat also refers in its announcement that entering in this medium will showcase the best in AR advertising, and world-class examples of how the format can be used to immerse audiences in interactive storytelling experiences.
In the same context, it should be said that the Clio Awards is the esteemed international awards competition for the creative business. Founded in 1959 to celebrate high achievement in advertising, the Clios recognize, agencies, talent, and work those push boundaries and establish a new precedent.
Everyone can now submit a Snapchat’s AR campaign on the competition, and one winner will be presented with the award at the 2018 Clio Awards ceremony.
