Job Responsibilities:
- Set, propose and lead strategies for primary social media channels including, usage guidelines, message mix, scheduling, volume, and the role of each channel in overall marketing strategies.
- Accountable for overseeing content creation or curation including photography, video, editing, copywriting, and other forms of current and emerging multimedia technology.
- Head integration of social channels with Zippo websites and other Zippo marketing channels.
- Cooperate with sales, marketing, licensing, legal, and consumer relations stakeholders on strategy development and program implementation, ensuring alignment with and support of overall marketing efforts.
- Operate with internal and outside counsel to ensure all social efforts both domestic and global are aligned with corporate policies as well as international and local laws.
- Supervise strategy for social properties to drive increased fan engagement: proposes themes and promotions, develops and sources content, coordinates scheduling across groups.
- Lead development, maintenance and promotion of social property features and functionality; supervises vendors and outside agencies as needed.
- Oversee the ongoing evolution of all social media sites and proposes strategies and features as appropriate.
- Manage brand presence development, communication, posting strategies and day-to-day maintenance of Zippo activity on secondary social channels including but not limited to Twitter, YouTube, Flickr, Instagram, Google +, Weibo, and Pinterest.
- Monitor Zippo-related posts and commentary across all key social channels (Facebook, Twitter, and major blogs) on a daily/weekly basis.
- Perform ad hoc analysis of social channels in response to perceived product problems and safety concerns, crisis situations, intellectual property issues, and other trends impacting brand image and consumer opinions.
- Study, analyze and provide actionable reporting on key engagement and fan base metrics for all existing social media channels.
- Improve materials and training of international distributors and subsidiaries on engagement, promotion, and conversation strategy.
- Direct all aspects of advertising for domestic, global, and geo-targeted campaigns.
- Assure all content released upholds the spirit and guidelines developed for social media conduct.
- Estimate publishing tools, emerging technology, and trends relevant to social media.
- Monitor cultural, local and world events to ensure planned content is appropriate.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in web and social media, communications, marketing, or business management.
- Minimum 3 years experience managing social platforms for consumer product brands.
- Effective experience managing employees.
- Any similar combination of education and experience.
- Expert knowledge of HTML, CSS, and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Deep knowledge of third-party analytical programs such as Facebook Insights, Google Analytics, etc.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Solid functional knowledge of, current social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Flickr, Instagram, Google +, Weibo, Pinterest, and other emerging social media platforms.
- Willingness and ability to work during non-standard business hours including weekends and holidays.
