Digital Content Specialist

Rick Hansen Foundation is looking for a Digital Content Specialist in British Columbia, Canada. If you meet the requirements below, you will be eligible to apply via Digital Marketing Community.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Promote and provide input to strategic and content planning for RHF’s digital channels and helps ensure optimal user experience.
  • Improve and maintain an editorial and content calendar for RHF digital channels consistent with the organization’s voice, brand, strategy and mission.
  • Design, curate and distributes multimedia content for RHF digital channels including RHF website, blog, and social media profiles.
  • Assure RHF’s followers are engaged and find value in the provided RHF content.
  • Collect analyzes and reports on digital media engagement and results.
  • Support RHF program areas to develop digital content and meet the needs of program teams and RHF audiences.
  • Evolve offline external communications such as (collateral, external ads or editorial).
  • Control SEO and tags and titles content using keywords that impact natural search traffic and rankings through recurrent optimized content.
  • Instruct internal teams about audience profiles for various digital channels.
  • Recognize threats and opportunities on digital channels surrounding the RHF brand and reports to appropriate parties.

Job Requirements:

  • Post-secondary diploma or degree in marketing, communications or public relations.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in marketing, journalism and/or communications.
  • Demonstrated experience in creating, curating and engaging audiences via web and social media such as (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram and YouTube).
  • Effective experience in creating and executing communications strategies and action plans.
  • Proficient experience writing and editing copy for offline and online channels including (blogs, articles and external ads for readability, tone and search engine optimization.
  • Extensive experience in managing build and launch a new website and understanding best practices in website user experience.
  • Deep knowledge to deal with social and web analytics tools including Google Analytics.
  • Solid understanding to work with external vendors or directly producing videos.
  • Strong understanding of content management systems.
  • Familiarity with the brand and digital marketing and how to encourage user engagement to support brand initiatives and business goals.
