Job Responsibilities:

• Head a team developing features for the Swoon Editions Magento application, turning high-level descriptions into things our users will love.
• Aid us to scale traffic and revenue, and improve business processes through the innovative use of technology.
• Establish reusable, extensible code that can be easily worked on by other members of the team.
• Create scalable solutions capable of quickly processing large amounts of data.
• Manage and contributing ideas on how to solve the complex issues that the team face.
• Own initiative to share and discuss your code with other members of the team to improve knowledge transfer and overall code quality.
• Use and operate production systems on AWS.
• Direct and develop a team of engineers.
• Run and improve the agile product development processes and engineering practices of the team.
• Liaise and collaborate with stakeholders throughout the business to create and deliver the product development roadmap.

Job Requirements:

• Effective experience in building web applications using LAMP architecture with Magento.
• Expert knowledge of PHP5 & OOP, and MySQL5 and its surrounding technologies.
• Effective experience in producing responsive websites.
• Strong competent writing skills in HTML, CSS and JS, and modern practices.
• Proficient experience with SQL database technologies.
• Familiarity with git and git-flow or similar code merging patterns.
• Able to dig deep into business requirements and having a sense of ownership over your work.
• A passion for and experience of agile and lean development processes.
• Proven experience of good engineering practices and implementing them in a team.
• Demonstrated understanding of operating complex systems using cloud-based solutions, especially using AWS and Docker.
