Job Responsibilities:
- Create, develop and oversee initiatives to improve branding and accessibility of the athletics and recreation services for the McGill and Montreal communities.
- Administer and assist with the development of the annual promotional calendar.
- Support in the planning and delivery of all varsity home games as they relate to engaging the McGill community and various interest groups.
- Manage, recruit and train student promotional teams and mascots.
- Organize digital communications/marketing strategies to maximize student engagement and involvement with varsity sports, recreation and intramurals under the director of the assistant director communications.
- Develop and implement new strategies to improve athletics and recreation website, app and e-business platforms.
- Leverage all digital communications to create excitement and encourage the development of conversations within the various communities that contribute to strengthening the athletics and recreation brand.
- Assist in the creation of content for all digital communications and social media channels.
- Use the appropriate analytics and measurement tools to provide regular reports and metrics on social engagement.
- Act as a liaison with student groups to promote athletics and recreation.
- Represent athletics and recreation at various McGill related on-campus information sessions.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing and/or communications is preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of working experience in the same role.
- Extensive experience with social media analytics and creation of (Facebook and Google) ads.
- Proficient knowledge of using various social media platforms such as (Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin, Instagram, Snapchat and YouTube).
- Effective understanding of using Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat and Sprout).
- Deep working skills of using MS Excel.
- Proven ability to liaise and communicate with a wide variety of clients, specifically students.
- Ability to build constructive and effective relationships.
- Strong knowledge of how to manage and update websites on the back end.
- Solid communication skills in English and French, spoken and written.
