Job Responsibilities:
- Lead social media marketing activities focussing on Twitter, Facebook, Flikr, LinkedIn, YouTube and others as appropriate.
- Assure each channel is scheduled and filled with content in-line with campaigns set by marketing managers.
- Operate closely with Penny Appeal’s International Marketing Managers.
- Grow the reach of social media activities, e.g., tweeting, sharing, engaging, liking and increasing social reach.
- Source and develop content (including stories, videos and pictures) to be used across social media channels using the appropriate tone-of-voice.
- Develop the charities challenges and events across social media channels.
- Oversee trends in social media tools, applications, channels, design and strategy.
- Examine the success of activities, translating anecdotal or qualitative data into recommendations and plans for revising the social media activities.
- Manage competitive analysis studies of the social media campaigns carried out by other charities.
- Accountable for developing own knowledge of marketing communications and the sector, along with keeping up to date on new developments.
- Support staff in other departments and regions as required in order to facilitate the work of the charity.
- Associate in meetings, conferences and team activities.
- Adhere to stated policies and procedures as per the company handbook, health and safety requirements and other management systems.
- Other duties as per the request of the digital media manager in the interest of the organization’s objectives.
Job Requirements:
- Deep knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications.
- Effective experience in using social media applications, such as Hootsuite and other similar tools.
- Proficient experience in sourcing and managing content, development and publishing.
- Expert knowledge and understanding of social media platforms and respective channels including, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and how each channel can be deployed in different scenarios.
- Familiarity with contributing to marketing and communications activities.
- Demonstrated understanding of Islamic financial matters (Zakat, Wakf, Qurbani etc.) is an advantage.
- Outstanding knowledge of additional languages, Arabic and Urdu is an advantage.
- Proven track record in working on foreign social media accounts is an advantage.
- Strong verbal and written communicator, with strong interpersonal skills.
- Customer focus and the ability to deal with and take ownership and solve complex customer issues.
- Solid organizational, time management and multi-tasking skills.
- Sound interpersonal and networking skills.
- Self-motivated with an ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- A desire for social media and proven experience of raising an organization’s profile through the deployment and management of social media campaigns.
- Able to manage people and drive high performance in their teams.
- Ability to prioritize and manage a complicated workload.
