Social Media Specialist

University of Toronto Press is looking for a Social Media Specialist in Toronto, Canada. If you meet the requirements below, you will be eligible to apply via Digital Marketing Community.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Improve and implement the strategic plan to grow UTP’s social media audience for key demographics.
  • Optimize the UTP brand and engage our community on social media by producing creative, intelligent and compelling content.
  • Direct the day-to-day execution of social media messaging.
  • Operate in conjunction with other marketing team members to leverage UTP authors, book content, activities, and recognition in messaging, including awards and book reviews.
  • Examine and report on KPIs on a regular basis.
  • Cooperate with other members of the marketing team, grow web traffic for UTP by evaluating and improving the site’s SEO.
  • Stay up to date with advances in social media technology and the latest social media platforms.
  • Arrange all metrics by title and communicate to authors and staff.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in marketing, communications or related field.
  • Proficient experience in web publishing, HTML, SEO and basic content management systems.
  • Effective skills in planning, managing and executing successful social media campaigns.
  • Proven understanding of SEO and web traffic metrics.
  • Deep knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel, Outlook and Word.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and deadline-driven.
  • Familiarity with our core values of respect, innovation and accountability.
  • High ability to write creatively, clearly and compellingly.
