UX Researcher

Job Responsibilities:

  • Operate closely with designers, product managers, and engineers to identify research questions and uncover opportunities to further improve our understanding of both current and prospective users.
  • Perform research using a wide variety of qualitative and subset of quantitative methods (e.g. surveys) to generate actionable insights across the product development lifecycle, including upfront generative research to identify new opportunities, iterative concept evaluation and post-launch testing.
  • Plan, design and carry out research activities with users that help us to get a deep understanding of the people that use our services.
  • Cooperate with teammates to translate insights into powerful stories and strategic designs for innovative products, services, interactions and experiences.
  • Report user research findings to the business so that all stakeholders share a strong understanding of our users.
  • Convert research data into usable outputs, including user personas, journey maps and competitive analyses.
  • Produce insights that both fuel ideation and evaluate designs.
  • Design clickable wireframe to test the hypothesis.
  • Estimate the usability of designs, from participant recruitment to task design and usability test moderation.
  • Promote UX metrics as appropriate for repeated use and comparison over time.
  • Bring your own unique perspective to our design team.

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years of qualitative research experience in all stages of the process (scoping a research process, leading fieldwork, conducting in-context interviews, performing desk research, etc.).
  • Expert knowledge of working in agile development environments with designers, engineers and product managers to create new digital products and services.
  • Effective experience working within a variety of industries and/or background in organizational design, startups, and/or brand strategy a plus.
  • Deep knowledge, experience in and passion for user-centered design.
  • Solid curiosity with new tools, technologies and methods that push learning in new directions, reach users in new ways, inspire the design team and content, or compliment depth of insight with scale.
  • Strong communication and storytelling skills fluency and confidence in inspiring teammates and clients with user-driven rationale.
  • Familiarity with using data to find and/or support a story is a plus.
  • High comfort level in working within a self-directed culture and navigating ambiguity.
  • Openness to critique from other disciplines, curiosity to learn from a spectrum of perspectives, and experience or strong interest in collaborating closely with creative designers.
  • Ability to work flexibly and efficiently, exercising a balance between research rigor, extreme organizational skills, and leaving space for intuition and inspiration.
