Most of US consumers are more likely to watch movies or TV content on mobile, with 58% who watch these contents on smartphones. Netflix -wide catalog of content- ranked at the top of most preferred platforms among US viewers, followed by Amazon Prime Video with only a rate of 14%, then the YouTube (9%).
In terms of digital video marketing, marketers rely basically on keywords (73%), interests (67%) and geographic/demographic (64%) features as their top used targeting tactics on YouTube. Data were driven from 78 marketing thought leaders from start-ups to Fortune 500.
Among the 78 marketing thought leaders surveyed, the majority of them assume Youtube as the most used platform for digital video marketing followed by Facebook, while Snapchat ranks the last place in this measure.
71% of internet users in Egypt, KSA, and UAE use smartphones to stream online video content, followed by desktops or laptops (57%), then tablets (23%). TV screen is increasingly used to watch streamed content either through a smart TV application or via a connected device to the TV.
Only 12% of total 78 marketing thought leaders surveyed consider their organizations to be very effective at video marketing. They are followed by a rate of 32% consider it as effective and 19% are somewhat effective.
Most of the 78 marketing thought leaders – globally- surveyed reported that using both YouTube (96%) and Facebook (93%) are the most preferred platforms for video marketing. They also reported that they’ve reached over 85% of the total market through these two social video platforms.
