Generally, convenience and price are the two most important influences factors for American shoppers on a purchasing decision. But price comes into play in multiple ways including shipping, taxes, fees, returns, coupons, discounts and giveaways all matter to consumers.

So, the most important influencing factors on purchasing decisions that Americans rank as “very” or “extremely” influential in determining where they shop are price (87%), shipping cost and speed (80%), and discount offers (71%).

It worth to be mentioned that, 23% of American shoppers are influenced by social media recommendations and 21% are influenced by advertisements.
