73.5% of US Shoppers Plan to Spend as the Last Year on Holiday Gifts, 2017 | CPC Strategy

The largest shopping season of the year is nearly upon us and it might be the biggest one yet. That’s why retailers need to be aware of how much their expected shoppers would spend on holiday gifts and when will they do so.

The vast majority of US shoppers (73.5%) planned to spend on holiday gifts nearly the same they did last year, while only 14.6% planned to spend more. Moreover, 30% of respondents planned to spend from $250 to $499 and 26.7% planned to spend from $500 to $1000.

In terms of the period, US shoppers do most of their holiday shopping before Thanksgiving weekend (35.5%) and during the month of December (32%) for the Christmas.
