“UPS” polled more than 5000 of US online shoppers to find out their online shopping behavior. The data showed that 38% of respondents start their online search at a marketplace (e.g Amazon, eBay, Etsy and Jet) more than any other channel. But, what were their main drivers to do so?.
Getting better prices from marketplaces comes at the top of reasons made them shop from it instead of retailers with a rate of 65%. Getting free and discounted shipping comes follow with a rate of 55%.
In the future, 30% of US online shoppers intend to purchase more products/services on marketplaces versus 29% who will search in such markets.
